# Edit the type of transaction in chart of accounts

To change the type of transaction in an account: 

* Go to Master --> Chart of Accounts. 
* Select the account you want to update from the list of chart of accounts.  
* Make the changes and click on Update. 

Note:  If you have already associated an account with a transaction, the type of account cannot be changed. Only the name of account can be updated.
