# Delete an account from the chart of accounts

To delete an account: 

* Go to Master --> Chart of Accounts. 
* Select the account you want to delete from the list of chart of accounts.  
* Click on Delete. 

Note:  If you have already associated an account with a transaction, that chart of account cannot be deleted.
