# Match transaction with books / Explain a transaction

Explaining a transaction helps to match the bank transaction with SimpleAccounts account. Moreover, it aids in accurate auditing to give insightful reports. E.g., Profit and Loss Report. 

To match transactions with books: 

* Go to Banking --> Bank Account. 
* Click on bank account number for which you need to explain transaction. 
* Click on Not Explained under Status of the transaction. 
* Enter the Transaction type and Category. 
* Click on Explain
