# Import a transaction from your computer

Transaction in accounting is an activity that affects your financial status of the business. It can be a sale, purchase, deposit, loan, delivery etc. Import the transaction details in spreadsheets to add them to SimpleAccounts. 

To import a transaction: 

* Go to Banking --> Bank Account. 
* Select the bank account number to which you need to add the bank transaction. 
* Click on Import Statement Tab. 
* Choose the parsing template and upload the required file. 
* Click on Parse File.
