# Match an Invoice with Bank Transaction

To match invoice with Bank Transaction:

* Go to Banking --> Bank Account.
* Click on the bank account number for which you need to match invoice with transaction.
* Note the transaction amount which is not explained.

Now to match the invoice with the bank transaction, we need to create an invoice with the same transaction amount.

* Go to Income --> Customer Invoices.
* Select Add New Invoice.
* Enter the details and add the same amount of the bank transaction you need to match with.
* Click on Create.

You will find the status of the created Invoice as Draft.

* Select the drop-down button against the invoice and click Send.

Now the status turns to overdue. To match with the bank transaction:

* Go to Banking --> Bank Account.
* Click on the bank account number for which you need to match invoice with transaction.
* Navigate to the desired Transaction in the list and click on Not Explained.
* Enter the Transaction type and Customer as in the invoice.
* Click on Explain.

If you direct to the status of the invoice now, you find it changed to Paid, as it has matched with the bank account.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.simpleaccounts.io/product-guides/banking/manage-transactions/match-an-invoice-with-bank-transaction.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
